Hi all. Seens as the 6 forum ain't working and everyone appears to be here now anyways, I got an intermittent heater blower. The blower is new from a 40k car, same for the blower controls and the relay is new too. I've been told that the rheostat is up the swanny.  So the question is, where the hell is it?! Or, what does it have instead of the rheostat.  Or can anyone think of anything else that cause the issue?

Cheers for looking.

Intermittent is normally a knackered wire somewhere, I'd start by turning on the blower and just wiggling all the cables around to see if there's something obvious.

The rheostat is usually where the plug connects to

Try the cables running up under the pass footwell along the metal tube, mine cuts out and after numerous kicks that used to bring it back to life it required a more delicate touch of massaging the loom.

We did all that last night but it seems the motor sometimes does respond and sometimes don't.  Armz dies suspect the cables under the passenger though. They look a little out of shape near the fan socket.

So even when the fan is set to off, they still spin very slowly. Are you saying yours is just not spinning at all or that it is but just wont react to the controls?

Its your car taking the piss for having working air con. No 306 is supposed to have working air con now!

Lol Niall it seems to just cut in and out of its own accord however responds to the speed increments perfectly but randomly stops working then works again then doesn't do I suspect a broken or damaged wire but pulled a lot of it to bits last night and checked all connections and no amount of wiggling would provoke it ino working or not working.

Could be the contacts in the fan rather than wiring to it. Or a faulty heater control switch.
