oWain, you may be able to guide us in the right direction, here, being the audio snob I think you are. We're looking at docking station style speakers for the house. It'll be our main output for music, so has to be good crisp sound with decent bass. As per usual, I've had a quick look but the market seems to be saturated with different specs/design/prices. I'd be looking at spending around £200.

Any pointers?

Afraid not. Been absolutely years since I knew about audio. All I do know is that if you want decent sound, you need big speakers. Nothing enormous, but forget any crappy desktop "compact" nonsense. Honestly best bet is to go along to PC World or somewhere you can try a few out.

KRK are near field monitors, for recording studios.
